The Chesapeake area offers a magnitude of golfing and dining experiences all year round. Winter golf (although challanging) presents some of the most economical opportunities to play the areas most prestigious courses at deep discounts. The elements can be minimized with proper dress and some occasional special equipment (heaters and covers).
Course staffs are more attentive with the reduced volume and offer timely advise on everything from course conditions, the latest joke, best balls and apparel to conquer the hard fareways and frozen greens. The frozen water hazards can also present some interesting opportunities to take that shot without the fear of loosing the coveted ball. Roughs are also trimmed back to present great ball finding opportunities.
